Lead Quality Engineer

Our cross-functional service teams build and support a set of applications and services that enable our products to provide automated advice direct to consumer and to optimize the efficiency of financial advisers working in a strict regulatory environment. As a quality engineer you will make a significant contribution to the delivery of features by being a part of discovery/analysis sessions to create a shared understanding of the problem space, pairing with engineers, leading the test approach and automated checks strategy and contributing to production deployments. In your autonomous team you will live agile values and be empowered to own the software you create as a team and take accountability for its successful operation in live.

Your role

The quality of our software is of utmost importance to us so we are looking for motivated engineers with significant experience in testing web applications with a focus on the whole development lifecycle and who understand the importance of automated testing in supporting delivering safely at speed.

Your responsibilities

  • To provide the knowledge, educational support and tooling/platforms required to achieve world-class levels of quality and assurance within our SaaS platform.
  • Supporting, organising and prioritising testing work within an Agile team environment.
  • Researching, developing and driving the adoption of guidance on best-practice to ensure software quality, security and integrity without compromising agility and innovation.
  • Facilitating the building and maintaining of automated test suites.
  • Exploratory testing of web applications.
  • Ownership of the QE chapter dashboards.
  • Code/peer review of colleagues' testing work.
  • Responsible for the testing of an application or for the leadership of a defined technical testing area.
  • Help raise the profile of Wealth Wizards engineering as leaders in the Midlands Tech community.

Your skills

  • Expert knowledge of quality engineering theory and methods which you’ve practised in a truly Agile environment.
  • Passion for improving the quality of software, with the ability to lead and enthuse others.
  • Desire for being immersed in a team environment where software, platform and quality engineers work closely together in cross-functional teams.
  • Love of innovation, with a constant drive to increase the efficiency of the quality engineering processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Considerable experience in a relevant test automation tool. What we use:
